EneStars
Born out of a long awaited vision I’ve had since my early 20s. EneStars is a FREE career empowerment service specifically tailored towards “vulnerable and/or disadvantaged women. By this I mean women who may have struggled continuously with starting and developing a career due to several circumstances.
Why women? Growing up in Nigeria, I’ve seen first-hand the struggle women go through to find work and keep it. Aside the obvious obstacles such as childcare, pregnancies, non transferrable skills and none to minimal education, there is also a lack of information available to these women. Some are housewives and when the opportunity arrives have no idea what to do or how to do it. Some are single moms already in the threshold of “ surviving” and have no time or resources to upskill themselves. Others have lost jobs and currently struggling to get back into the workforce. And then there are those who have never worked, and have no idea where to start from. The list is endless. The idea of this programme is to provide some direction based on every woman’s individual needs.
EneStars are women who are “stars” already and just need to feel, be and act like one. These programme is free in its entirety and NO FEES or FUNDS will be required from all eligible participants. To ensure this programme benefits the right people, you may need to convince us that you fit the below criteria. Services will be tailored towards individual’s needs.
Criteria
- Women
- Currently unemployed: This terms covers a multitude of situations
- 1. Women who’ve worked before but now suddenly find themselves unemployed for a long period of time. We would expect someone who has not worked for at least 6 months, needs to be upskilled and of a low income range.
- 2. Women who are not gainfully employed” and find themselves stuck in low skilled and inconsistent jobs. Often all that is required is some career mentoring and interview coaching to break out of the cage.
- 3. Women who have been housewives for a long time and now looking to build a career.
- 4. Women desperately seeking a career change but lack the direction or information required to make a decision.

- Age limit: None! You could be 18 0r 80. Doesn’t matter one bit.

What's Covered
- Help with CV writing: This service will include help in completing a new or updating an existing CV. This will be tailored to your next role, including any new skills you may have gained in the course of the program.
- Cover Letter: A simple, non ambiguous cover letter to be attached to CVs.
- Excel training: This will cover Excel training and will include basic to mid-level sessions. This will be dependent on individual needs and will be run as online sessions.
- Basic Email writing: A basic training on how to word, format, attach and reply to emails.
- Basic MS office skills: Online sessions covering basic word and excel training.
- Career mentoring: Full career mentoring and guidance.
- Interview coaching: Coaching through all interview stages
The Future
EneStars was born February 2019 but from a vision over 10 years old. This is only the beginning and we plan to extend outside the UK and to include vocational training and empower women entrepreneurially.
